Consider Limit Hold’em

December 21, 2008

You may be used to and accustomed to playing No Limit Texas Hold’em poker. This is the most popular kind of poker and it is the kind of poker that is certainly very exciting. The all in move is something that can surprise an opponent at any time of the game. Aside from No Limit Texas Hold’em, you should also consider Limit Texas Hold’em. Why should you consider Limit Hold’em anyway?

One of the reasons why you should consider Limit Hold’em is because there are some poker players that are not ready to lose a lot of their chips in certain parts of the game. Limit Hold’em controls the number of players that will end up being out. For instance, if the limit to raise is a dollar for every round then you can raise as much as four dollars. One is for the pre flop, one is after the flop, one is after the turn, and the last one is after the river card. This excludes the antes and the blinds beforehand. This means that if you have twenty dollars of chips, it would be impossible for you to be taken out on the first round. This is the safety bar that you can rely on at a Limit Hold’em match. Since you will not be able to gain a lot, at the same time, you will not be able to lose a lot as well.

Another reason why you should consider Limit Hold’em is during a cash basis game. This is also useful for those who walk in and out of a poker game. If you are playing a cash basis game then the people can only shell out a maximum number of cash only. For example, if you are playing in quarters and the maximum raise per round is a quarter then anyone can join the game if he or she wants to. At anytime, anyone can pull out of the poker table too. If you have guests at your poker invitational that go in and out of the poker table then this is the ideal method of hosting your tournament. Have a cash basis Limit Hold’em match where any number of players can join.

If you have not tried a Limit Hold’em match then you should certainly go out there and try it out. You are going to enjoy the game and you are going to enjoy the ability to go in and out of the table. If you feel like you want to cash out then you can do so. If you feel like you want to play some more then you can do so as well. A cash basis Limit Hold’em game is ideal for those on the go. If you are the type of person that can not sit still at a poker table for two to three hours then maybe you are better off playing Limit Hold’em than No Limit Hold’em. The rule of thumb in this case is that you should try both Limit Hold’em and No Limit Hold’em so that you get a feel for both. Find out which is better for you and then go on and have a lot of poker fun.
